Searching the Hudson Court Docket
Begin with Indiana MyCase once a Hudson notice or summons has reached state court. A full cause number gives the cleanest match. A citation number works for a traffic or ordinance case. With only a name in hand, narrow the docket search by Steuben County. Then add active court, category, status, and filing range. The town name by itself proves nothing. MyCase has no field for it that establishes jurisdiction.
- Read the Hudson notice or summons for a citation or cause number.
- Open MyCase and choose Case or Name.
- Select Steuben Superior or Circuit when the record identifies that court.
- Use the Criminal & Citation or Civil category that fits the matter.
- Read the CCS events, setting, status, and disposition.
- Ask the Steuben County Clerk for the exact official public record.
If MyCase comes up empty, contact the Clerk directly. Call 260-668-1000 ext. 2240, stop at the first-floor counter at 305 South Martha Street in Angola, or mail a focused request. Name the cause number, the document you need, and the copy type.
Hudson Ordinance Reaches County Court
Hudson's official Chapter 6 public-nuisance ordinance spells out the local routing better than most towns bother to. Notices get paid to the Town Clerk-Treasurer. An arrest summons is different. It says the summons is docketed in the County or Circuit Court of Steuben County in the town's name. Keep one caution in mind. The ordinance proves the procedure, not that any particular case was filed.
That word docketed marks the handoff. Before it, town records show the notice, the ordinance section, and where to pay locally. After filing, the CCS carries the public sequence of case events. Hold on to both sources, but give each its own job.
Hudson handoff: The ordinance explains the route to court. MyCase and the Clerk show whether the route produced an actual case and result.
Hudson Municipal Court Basics
The official Indiana court directory lists no current Hudson town court for Steuben County. Hudson also offers no docket portal of its own. So the usual municipal-court story needs a local correction. Hudson-related state cases roll into an active county court. They do not sit on a municipal docket.
Steuben Superior generally receives the criminal, traffic, and ordinance cases under local assignment rules. Circuit handles probate, small claims, evictions, guardianships, adoptions, trusts, and specified juvenile matters. Other civil work can land in either court. The live cause number and caption always control.
When picking a result, use 76D01 for Superior and 76C01 for Circuit. Those active identifiers beat the broad word Hudson every time.
Hudson Town Hall Route
The Town of Hudson posts its Town Hall contact details on the official site: 115 Parsonage Street, Hudson, IN 46747, with mail sent to PO Box 97. Two numbers are listed, 260-587-9500 and 260-667-7757. Email goes to treasurer@hudsontown.org. Reach out for a town notice, an ordinance, a local payment instruction, or any other municipal record.

The official Hudson source helps you identify the town office and its records role. It does not replace MyCase or certify a Steuben court outcome.
Ask Hudson first on one set of questions. Did a notice go out? What does Chapter 6 say? Ask MyCase and the Steuben County Clerk on the other set. That covers whether a summons became a case, which hearing occurred, or what judgment entered. The split is the core Hudson search rule.
Court Dates and Settings in Hudson
A public Hudson court setting shows up as a CCS event under the assigned Steuben court. Read the newest events, not just the first date. A reset or continuance can leave an earlier setting visible. A later one gets added on. To confirm a close hearing, check with the court named in the cause number or notice.
| Date | The day attached to the public setting event. |
|---|---|
| Time | The hearing time, distinct from town or Clerk office hours. |
| Court | Steuben Superior, Circuit, or magistrate assignment. |
| Officer | The judge or magistrate listed for the event. |
| Setting type | Initial hearing, pretrial, motion, trial, review, or another proceeding. |
For Steuben matters, Circuit answers at ext. 2000, Superior at ext. 2600, and the magistrate at ext. 2300. CourtCall is an attorney scheduling service, not a public hearing stream or docket feed. A Town Council date is not a court date either.
Hudson Summons Starts a Sequence
An arrest summons under Hudson's nuisance ordinance is a route into court, not a finding of liability. Once filed, the CCS may show the case number, party roles, alleged ordinance, service or notice, hearing settings, orders, financial entries, and disposition. Each of those events means something different.
Docket sequence: Hudson notice › opportunity or instruction stated by ordinance › summons › Steuben court filing › setting › judgment or other disposition.
The sequence may stop before court. Town process can resolve the issue as allowed. It may also shift through dismissal, continuance, amended filing, or another order. Never infer a final result from the first notice. Search for the later CCS entries, and request the signed judgment when formal proof matters.
- Summons
- A command to respond or appear; it is not a judgment.
- CCS
- The dated Chronological Case Summary kept for the court case.
- Disposition
- The event showing how the case ended.
Traffic Tickets in Hudson
MyCase is where a Hudson traffic ticket from Steuben County gets searched. Pick the Case tab and Citation Number. Then narrow the court to Steuben Superior when you can. Infraction cases carry the code IF. Ordinance matters show OV. Your ticket and the court entries, not the town homepage, control when you must appear.
Steuben posts a general infraction hearing time of Monday 3:30 p.m. Five exceptions require an appearance. A defendant under 18 with a parent or guardian counts. So do driving while suspended, open container, a learner's-permit violation, and passing a school bus. A specific citation or court order always beats the general page if the two differ.
Plenty of other tickets can simply be paid before court when no appearance is required. In person, the court takes cash, money order, or certified check. It rejects personal and business checks. AllPaid handles cards with location code 1595, plus a service fee. If you plan to contest the citation, follow the court's instructions instead of paying. The Steuben County Traffic Tickets page walks through the full county route.
Hudson OV Code Explained
In Indiana, OV marks a case as an ordinance violation. A Steuben Superior cause number looks like 76D01-YYMM-OV-######. County code 76 comes first. Then come the active court, the filing year and month, the OV type, and a running sequence. The format is only a pattern; no real private case is used.
Hudson's nuisance ordinance is one local rule that might sit behind an OV matter. The ordinance text alone proves nothing, though. It cannot show the town filed a case or that a judge found a violation. Run a docket search on the cause or citation number. Confirm the assigned court. Then read to the end of the record.
A docket search that returns no OV result is not a conclusion. The matter may still sit at the town level. It could carry a different case type, have a typo in your search details, be restricted from view, or never have reached a court at all. Ask the town about its notice. Ask the Clerk whether a court filing exists.
Where Hudson Cases Go
Hudson's own ordinance says a qualifying summons can be docketed in the County or Circuit Court of Steuben County. The filing is in the town's name. That wording is older or general. Read it against the current court structure. Today the active trial courts are Steuben Circuit and Steuben Superior. The old county-court entry no longer exists. The current cause number tells you where the case actually landed.
Docket flow: Hudson town process › active Steuben trial court › Indiana Court of Appeals when an authorized appeal follows.
Under local assignment rules, ordinary ordinance, infraction, and criminal filings usually go to Superior. Small claims, evictions, probate, and other listed matters route to Circuit. So one town-origin case can need different court filters. Its legal type decides. Trust the live caption in the docket search. Skip the ordinance's general phrase.
Hudson Town and County Records Differ
Hudson Town Hall and the Steuben County Clerk are both public offices. They hold very different records. The town keeps its ordinance, meeting records, notices, and local receipts. The Clerk's office holds the court CCS. Filed pleadings, orders, judgments, copies, and the current court ledger live there too.
| Question | Start here | Controlling record |
|---|---|---|
| What does Chapter 6 say? | Hudson Town Hall | Official ordinance text |
| Was a case filed? | MyCase | Public CCS or Clerk confirmation |
| What did the judge order? | Steuben Clerk | Signed court order |
| Was a town payment received? | Hudson Town Hall | Town receipt or account |
| What is the court balance? | Steuben Clerk | Current court ledger |
Each document answers one question. A town receipt cannot prove a court judgment is satisfied. A MyCase screen is no substitute. It cannot replace a certified order. Match the paper to the point you need to settle.
Hudson Records Request Steps
Do you have a Steuben cause number? Contact Clerk Tangi Manahan's office at 305 South Martha Street, Angola, IN 46703. The first-floor counter serves walk-ins on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Mail works too. Name the cause number, the exact document, and the approximate date in your letter. Say whether you need an ordinary or certified copy.
Send accepted payment and a self-addressed stamped envelope if the county instructions ask for them. The Clerk lists fax 260-668-3702. The office does not promise that fax works for every records request. If you cannot identify the case first, narrow it in MyCase. Do not ask the Clerk for a general name sweep. Is the question about a town notice issued before any filing? Then call Hudson. That two-step approach keeps each office in its own lane.
Hudson Case Results Need Context
A charge and an ordinance allegation are different things. So are a notice, a summons, a judgment, and a payment. The public CCS can show when each court event happened. Read the final disposition plus any later compliance or financial entry. The first event is never the whole outcome.
MyCase also warns about online balances. They can miss accrued interest or recent charges. AllPaid processes card payments; it is not a docket search or certification portal. Keep your receipt, then confirm how the payment posted to the court ledger. Was it a town payment described in the nuisance ordinance? Verify the town's record on its own.
The split matters in Hudson. The nuisance ordinance mixes town payment language with county docketing. The right source shifts as the matter moves. Town documents prove town acts, and court documents prove court acts.
Hudson Court Record Access Rules
Indiana presumes court records are open. Yet even a public Hudson case can contain a confidential filing. Juvenile, adoption, mental-health, treatment, protection-order, pretrial, and financial records may be excluded from view. Older papers may never have gone online at all. An empty MyCase result does not mean no case or file exists.
Key Indiana rules:
Access Rule 4 states the general public-access presumption.
Access Rule 5 identifies confidential and excluded categories.
Access Rule 9 provides the written process to seek access to an excluded record.
Ask the Clerk which rule, statute, or order governs a missing item. A party's access to their own case may be broader, but that never turns protected information into public record.
